About Kara Campbell

Kara is an active Certified member of the Orton-Gillingham Academy and a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction. She has gathered more than 7,000 hours of experience with students of all reading abilities ages 5-18 using the Orton-Gillingham (O-G) approach to reading and writing since 2014. 

In addition to private tutoring, Kara is the Pathways to Structured Literacy Practicum Supervisor for the Aim Institute for Learning and Research. 

Kara's most cherished role is mom to three  children who inspire her everyday as they continue to overcome their learning differences and thrive at academics, sports, arts and so much more!

In-person O-G tutoring 

 Location: Home office in Trumbull, CT. 

Online O-G tutoring with Zoom 

Tutoring sessions occur at a minimum of twice weekly for 45 minutes. 

O-G is a structured, multi-sensory approach to teaching spelling, reading and written expression that benefits all students, however it is necessary for those who struggle to read due to language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia. 1. Initial phone consult to determine availability and scheduling.

2. Kara will review all testing your child has received.

3. Kara administers her own testing and provides a written report.

4. Kara conducts three sessions of tutoring to ensure there is a good match or to refer to other more appropriate remediation services.
